Real women real experiences- Pain and fetal morbidity of preterm labor
A 35 year old woman, resident of Khanda colony, was registered with us for her 6th pregnancy.
She had three live children , all females of various age ranging from 12 years to 5 years, out of which two were born by Cesarean (LSCS) delivery.
She also had history of two MTP , abortion done as she did not want those pregnancies.
This time she was ready to carry the pregnancy, probably for the love of having a male child or pressure to bear a heir to the business that her husband had.
Till 27th week everything was going smoothly, till one day she called in emergency for pain in abdomen.
She was admitted started on Tocolytics- uterine relaxants medicines but to no avail and she delivered within couple of hours of admission , a very premature male baby of 1.1 kg.
As baby was breathing, it was shifted to NICU .
It has now been a couple of weeks and baby is still in NICU on ventilator, may still take a couple of weeks more.
So much morbidity and emotional pain because of preterm delivery.
