Rh isoimmunization,previous intrauterine fetal demise, in utrero fetal blood transfusions-they are all very strong indicators that this delivery should happen by Cesarean
A 36 year old woman, resident of Road Pali,Panvel consulted Dr.Himani R Gupta,Gynecoloist & Obstetrician from Kharghar Navi Mumbai.
Her blood group is Rh negative.
She has one child 12 years old by vaginal birth and subsequently 2 intra uterine fetal demise because of Rh Iso immunization.These cases were also vaginally delivered.
In this pregnancy she was very carefully monitored and required 4 time fetal in utero blood transfusion.
She should be ideally posted for elective LSCS at 35-36 weeks and chances of intrauterine fetal demise are very high afterwards.
Even if she goes in labour,emergency LSCS should be done as this baby is fragile as it has endured too much stress while in utero and giving extra stress of vaginal birth should not be done.
