Real Women-Real Experiences-1.2.19-One with Puerperal Fever

-A 32 year old woman, resident of sector -15 Kharghar, Navi Mumbai,G2, P1, L1 underwent emergency Caesarean delivery with bilateral tubal ligation as permanent family method, a few weeks ago.
-On post operative Day -2 she developed moderate grade fever. Routine investigations like CBC, PS for MP- Malarial Parasite, Urine routine , Dengue NS1, blood culture and urine culture were sent.
-A simple thing like increased pus cells in urine were detected.
-A change of IV antibiotics settled the patient in a couple of days.
-Puerperal fever- i.e. fever happening to the woman who has just delivered is cause of concern as it can be because of  Septicemia, DVT-Deep Vein Thrombosis, Breast engorgement , Endometritis and so many other reasons.
-Vigilance and timely treatment will make a difference.
