I am to undergo os tightening/cervical cerclage,which anesthesia is better for me spinal anesthesia or general anesthesia

       

A 34 year old nurse, resident of Kamothe ,panvel is undergoing ANC care under Dr.Himani R Gupta,Gynecoloist & Obstetrician from Kharghar,Navi Mumbai .

As she experienced a spontaneous miscarriage in last pregnancy, she was posted for cervical cerclage procedure in this pregnancy.

Os tightening procedure will keep the pregnancy safe.

Choice of anesthesia depends on the estimated time of surgery.

If it is going to be more than 30 minutes, it is better to go for spinal anesthesia or saddle block,rather than general anesthesia.
