A successful outcome in twins-IVF pregnancy
A 27 year old woman ,resident of Khandeshwar, Kharghar started consulting us for her first pregnancy which was a twins pregnancy and an outcome of IVF- In Vitro Fretilization.
Though it is a norm these days that only a single embryo of good quality is transferred in the uterus to avoid complications of twins like- anemia, gestational diabetes, PIH-pregnancy induced hypertension, prematurity, discordant twins.
The reason for IVF-ICSI was male factor.
As would have been expected with twins, she had a difficult time carrying this pregnancy.
Requiring many progesterone injections, bed rest, so many oral medications, recurrent admissions for threatened preterm labour.
Throughout this, she remained smiling, followed all the advises to the dot and was greatly supported by her husband.
Upon nearing maturity of babies and after they had gained sufficient weight, and she could not bear the increasing weight of the babies any more, elective LSCS was performed and she got what she wanted , one boy and one girl........
The family is super happy.
